BOGGY BAYOU MULLET FESTIVAL
When: Third Weekend in October

Niceville’s annual salute to the mullet (the fish, not the haircut!). This three-day festival draws tens of thousands of people from across the South and beyond. Big name entertainment, food, beer, arts and crafts, children’s rides and activities and more.

EASTER EGG DASH
When: Saturday before Easter

Youngsters dash for candy and other Easter treats in an event that includes 100s and is over in minutes!  The annual dash takes place at the Niceville Softball Complex.


NICEVILLE TOWN HALL FESTIVAL AND COMMUNITY CHRISTMAS PARADE
When: Early December

Niceville welcomes Christmastime each year with its community Christmas parade and Town Hall Festival. The annual parade features floats, marching bands, holiday treats, Santa and much more. Niceville’s City Hall complex is turned into a festive Christmas wonderland the same weekend as the parade and includes the community Christmas Tree lighting.


INDEPENDENCE DAY FIREWORKS
When: July 4

The night sky above Boggy Bayou lights up with a huge fireworks show on the Fourth of July as Niceville celebrates our nation’s birthday.


THUNDERBIRD INTERTRIBAL POWWOW
When: Early November

The Annual Thunderbird Intertribal Powwow is held at the Mullet Festival grounds in Niceville in early November each year.

The three-day event features Native American dancing, storytelling, traditional drums and singers, handcrafted, authentic native crafters, exhibits, demonstrations and food.

The annual Native American Powwow is part of the Native American and Alaskan Heritage Month activities during the month of November.

Organizers aim to educate the local community about Native Americans and their role in the past and the present, promote cultural understanding and encourage participation and goodwill between Native and non-Native persons.

SATURDAY IN THE PARK
When: Late April

Artists and craftspeople from throughout the area display their wares and skills at the annual Saturday in the Park held each April at Perrine Park in historic downtown Valparaiso. The popular springtime festival benefits the Heritage Museum of Valparaiso.

In addition to over 100 craftspeople and artists, Saturday in the Park traditionally features local musical entertainment and dancers, pony rides and other amusements for children, craft demonstrations, old fashioned horse and carriage rides along the bayou, storytellers, crafts, antique cars, plant show and sale, food and much more.

YULE OF YESTERYEAR
When: Mid-December

In an age of technology and new fangled gadgets, the Yule of Yesteryear, sponsored by the Heritage Museum of Northwest Florida, offers a glimpse into the past. Held at Perrine park in historic Downtown Valparaiso, the daylong celebration offers old time Christmas festivities geared for families, arts and crafts demonstrations and sales, food booths, activities for children, the Walton Guard reenacting a Civil war Christmas and more.
