Here's the local hotel/motel information you need if you're going to stay in Niceville

Niceville may be a small town but we’re big on hospitality, offering visitors five hotels/motels and a golf resort. Two outstanding hotels are located in the heart of Niceville: the Comfort Inn and the Holiday Inn Express. Both are centrally located in the heart of the City of Niceville, one mile south of the Mullet Festival site.

You can’t go wrong staying at either of these hospitable, well-maintained hotels. Each is locally owned and operated. The owners have deep roots in our community and are well-respected here. They work hard every day keeping the “nice” in Niceville.

The Comfort Inn is a Two-star Hotel (motel); the Holiday Inn Express is a Three-star Hotel. They are designed differently in that the rooms at the Comfort Inn are accessed through outside doors like a typical motel. The rooms at the Holiday Inn Express are all interior rooms accessed through the lobby.

One of the most obvious differences between Niceville’s two hotels is their proximity to restaurants and Niceville’s picturesque Boggy Bayou. Only The Holiday Inn Express has restaurants within walking distance. Ruby Tuesday’s is located next to the Holiday Inn Express, and the popular hometown Front Porch restaurant, is only a block away down Bayshore Drive. There is also a Burger King within easy walking distance from the Holiday Inn Express.

The Holiday Inn Express is adjacent to Boggy Bayou, offering its guests the opportunity to stroll along the waterfront.

While the Holiday Inn Express and Comfort Inn are very close to each other, the Comfort Inn is located on the north side of John Sims Parkway (State Road 20); the Holiday Inn Express is located on the south side. The roadway is currently being widened to six lanes and there is no place to cross near the motels. There is no sidewalk in front of the Comfort Inn either. Perhaps that will change once the road work is complete.

If you’re planning on driving to a restaurant to eat, you’ll find the Comfort Inn just as convenient as the Holiday Inn Express, and quite easy to get to and from in a vehicle.
